The last 9 months has been an experience of government and the media dividing people. You have one side that believes in shutting down entire economies because of a coronavirus and another side that, presented with the same information, arrives at another conclusion which is that economies should remain open and healthcare should be propped up and vastly different quarantine rules are needed.
If you are reading this blog you are probably of a sharp mind, and observe as I do, that the mainstream media is insanely one sided and free speech is in peril. While you see this aspect of the world clearly, I know that you also observe those that believe in shutdowns and can quickly come to the conclusion that the information they receive is only from mainstream media. Going one step further, I bet that when you inquire and push for answers from these people you end up pissing them off and they storm off because when forced to confront their weak and lame foundation for their belief, it is easier to believe the delusion then to admit they are wrong and change their view. After all, everybody must be right if it is all the media is talking about.
If this contrived pandemic has made you question the sanity of the world – it is a good thing. It means you see the lie and are unabashedly angered that you and your fellow citizens are being swindled – even if it is the ones who drive you crazy. It is because you care about people and are committed to the truth that you dig deeper than the headlines and question the decisions made by government officials.
Are you still left wondering if everyone in the world has lost their collective marbles and are believing a lie? Well, in Paul’s second letter to the Thessalonians he writes,
2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
—–2 Thessalonians 2:10-12
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
I think he was on to something.
Keep the faith. Stay strong through the end. Keep seeking the truth and know that it makes you stronger of mind, body, and soul. As Jesus said, the truth shall set you free, and I’m sure you feel that knowing the truth has freed you from the chains of despair, physical distress, and mental oppression such that when the time is opportune for you to speak and argue the truth, you have unlimited energy. I know it to be true and so do you, and that’s because it comes from God, following his word, and God following through on His promise of what the truth will do in your life.
