If you are doing the things that Christ tells us to do – such as fast and pray. There is a higher chance that you probably are not being smothered by this veil of fear that is called Covid-19 that is being perpetuated by the government and mainstream media. I will not dive deeper into the incredible sea of lies about this virus or how ridiculous the counter productive measures have been – effectively shutting down 30% of the economy of the entire world. What I want to shine a light upon, is very high fear level that I am sure you are noticing from people around you; both friends, family, and the majority of people you see physically or on screen.
This brings me to the next saddening occurrence I have noticed – the high numbers of Christians living in fear. All of you following this blog or who are new to it – rest assured that you have nothing to fear. Our God – the true living God – in his great wisdom and mercy, as Paul has written to his disciple Timothy,
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (emphasis my own)
2 Timothy 1:7
If we choose to do as God says and take every thought captive that exalts itself above the Lord as Paul says we should do (2 Corinthians 10: 5), then we will not fear covid-19 or anything else the evil media is spewing at us. Just as it is written above to Timothy, we have a spirit of power, love, and of SOUND MIND! God has literally given us the power through the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Mark 16:16-18). He has given us a spirit of love because He loved us first (1 John 4:19), and of wisdom and clarity that can only come from Him, for we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16).
Live in the Spirit of the living God who has given you everything you need to live a powerful and loving life. Seek and you shall find (Matthew 7:7) the truth, and the truth shall set you free (John 8:32).
Don’t live as those who are running scared around you, but powerfully as God has equipped us and wants us to do, and with love for thy neighbor such that we can shine a light upon the Lord so they are no longer afraid, but rejoice in the good news of the Gospel as you do.
Powerfully in Him,
Pierce
