In life, there are times where we make an evaluation of a situation, and then we have to decide if we are going to fight. It doesn’t necessarily mean a physical fight, but you are choosing to accomplish something despite the obstacles that lay in your path. In a war there are many battles, some you win and others you may not. There comes a time however, if the war is prolonged, where you start to question if all this effort and time you have invested is worth the perceived outcome that motivated you to commence this fight.
This moment is when you must decide to rally the troops and circle the wagons to dig in and win the fight, OR, you cut your losses and exit the battlefield (hopefully without many scars and quickly recoverable losses). As we all know, and have experienced in some way, quitting is easy. Walking off the battleground is easy. Staying in the fight however, requires a different type of spirit.
So he answered and said to me:
“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
Zechariah 4:6
‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the Lord of hosts.
Is it not amazing that, as humans, when we decide we want something no matter what, we can conquer almost any obstacle? How? Consider the passage and how it states not by might or power by by MY SPIRIT. SPIRIT. The Spirit that has been given to us by God’s grace is indomitable – if we choose it to be that way. If we choose to engage the Holy Spirit through prayer. If we use the Holy Spirit in what we do to glorify God. The cavalry, the uplift in the midst of the mud and battle, is Christ’s Spirit.
I reckon with you today, that the world (especially with eyes on Canada) is in a standoff – a fight between good and evil. Most people are asleep at the wheel and never comprehend there is even a fight going on because they say to themselves they are insignificant. That couldn’t be further from the truth. We are significant. Consider how the good people of #FreedomConvoy have literally stirred the Spirit within the people not just of Canada, but the entire world. You have power, but by relying and engaging the Holy Spirit we are victorious. And with that, I leave you with one more passage about the type of Spirit that God has given us. Embrace it and use it powerfully!!
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7
