12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:12
Is it not strange that if you do not slow down your thoughts and your life (even in moments of rage or fear), it is so easy to lose track of who (or what) we are in fact fighting. For instance, if someone starts a fight, have you ever thought what is going through their head to make them do that? Or what makes somebody in a position of power or authority take a direction that clearly harms people?
Yes, we see the body moving and talking and doing these things, however, is it not the mind or the spirit that makes a person interact with the world to make their thoughts happen? Therefore, when you read the quote that inspired this post and made me think a little longer about what makes people tick, has your line of thinking about people changed? Do you think the way you do ‘battle’ in the world will change?
After all, how do we engage in dialogue and communicate with our Heavenly Father? By prayer. If we are fighting spiritual wickedness which ultimately translates into wickedness in the world, than how much more paramount does praying become in our life? It becomes HUGE! Let’s take a page out of the greatest playbook of all time, the Holy Bible, and pray without ceasing.
Pray without ceasing.
