Doing Morning Affirmations? Are you affirming who God made you to be?

Getting up in the morning is a blessing from God! Most people fail to acknowledge how much faith is involved in going to sleep and waking up everyday. People forget that when they are asleep they are out of control and really have no control over when or if they will wake up.  The first problem requires an alarm clock, the second is faith in God.  If you really break it down, when you are sleeping you can have a heart attack; a person can break into your house and stab you; you can stop breathing etc.

Now that you are awake and understand that each day is a gift from God, it is a good idea to affirm what our heavenly Father says that we are – because we are that person, no matter how we feel.

Even when you feel bad or do something you are not proud of, that doesn’t change who you are – people make mistakes, and thankfully by the graces of God and His son Jesus, we have been shown forgiveness, and we can forgive.

So who does God say that you are?  Let us look at just three passages from the Holy Bible to get us started.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

12 Through God we will do valiantly, For it is He who shall tread down our enemies.

Psalm 60: 12

13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

Ephesians 6: 13 – 17
