People who enjoy the misery of others are terrible!

Are you a person who helps others when they need help?

Do you use the skills that God has gifted to you to be a blessing to other people?

I sure hope so! Ultimately, on a very broad level, God will be counting how many lives we have made better.  DO GOOD THINGS! In addition to making the people you help feel valued and (hopefully) grateful, you will feel good having done good unto others as you ought to do.

HOWEVER; and it’s a big however, if you mock the poor or are put into a good mood by the misery and tough times that others endure. WATCH OUT! You are in for a rude awakening. And if you know someone like this you have two choices: 1) help them change through the power of Christ or 2) cut them out of your life as much as possible.

Here is what Solomon wrote in the book of Proverbs;

Pro 17:5  Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.

Proverbs 17:5

There is nothing good that can come from performing these actions or feeling this way.  Think about your own life and the people you know who have these qualities.  Don’t be a dick.

If you have been blessed with good fortune, help people who are less fortunate. Be a role model to make the world a better place. That takes both time and effort which is what makes the goal worth striving for against all the trials of the world.
